After asking Marisol to move in with him, he discovers that she previously went to nun school, which throws him for a loop in a gay way. I think Maddie is a little bit thrown. fans have questions about whether Buck was confirmed to be gay in Season 7, which the series' showrunner addressed. For seven seasons, fans have been calling on the showrunners to make the queer-coded character Evan 'Buck' Buckley explicitly queer – and to my huge surprise, it's finally happened.

When I spoke with Ryan Guzman at the start of the season, he told me he was really interested in continuing the Eddie-Marisol evan, and he asked for Edy Ganem to come back to play out that arc. I just knew that I needed a scene with Maddie, and I needed a scene with Eddie.

Oliver Stark's Evan "Buck" Buckley is well known for his sexual endeavors through the series' first six seasons, having one-night stands with various women and often getting himself in trouble. It felt like it was the right time. I buckley like Eddie and Maddie react to the news a little differently; Eddie seems more taken aback than Maddie, at least at first.

I think you could really see that it was a lightbulb going off for him on some level because I wanted to make sure that in episode four, if you went back and watched it again, you would see that it was all laid out, it was all set up. I wanted it to feel real.
